Concrete is an excellent material to use as flooring because it’s resilient and durable. It’s also suitable for all kinds of applications like residential, commercial, and industrial, which is why this flooring has become very popular in the recent years. However, concrete surfaces are porous and can be soft. They need to be treated with concrete sealants and coatings in order to withstand regular wear and tear. At Cool Concrete, we use the best quality materials and solutions to seal the concrete.
Our team has effectively sealed concrete in Nampa, Rexburg, Rupert, Preston, and Salt Lake. We have worked on industrial, commercial, and residential properties in Boise, Caldwell, Burley, Coeur d'Alvene, and Filer, and have received good feedback from clients regarding the quality of the concrete.
What is Concrete Sealing?
Concrete sealing is the process of applying a coating on the concrete surface that forms a protective barrier. This barrier ensures the concrete surface is more resilient, durable, and resistant to stains or abrasives. Different kinds of sealants provide different results, which is why it’s essential to choose a sealant according to your requirements. Our experts are familiar with different sealant products available in the market and can offer good advice on which one you need for your requirements.
Sealants and Decorative Coatings
We have worked with different kinds of sealants and coatings, so we’re familiar with how different products perform in real life conditions. Here’s a brief introduction to sealants and coatings our team frequently uses on different projects:
1. CSS Emulsion
The emulsion is made from clear acrylic and methyl methacrylic and is highly concentrated. It’s 53% solid, which means it needs to be diluted before application. This makes the emulsion easier to work with and more economical as it doesn’t come pre-diluted from the manufacturer. This professional-grade sealant is also very durable and resilient, and that makes it a good option for commercial and industrial flooring requirements.
As the sealant has 53% concentration of solids, it’s very versatile and flexible. It can be used as both a cure and a sealant if it’s diluted with the right amount of solvent. We can use different kinds of solvents in order to make the solution malleable, which means that our experts can use low VOC products. Unlike over-the-counter sealers, the CSS emulsion is more durable and resistant to wear. That makes this sealer a good investment and reduces the long-term maintenance and replacement costs.
2. CSS-V Emulsion
This emulsion is also made from clear acrylic and methyl methacrylic but the concrete sealant has a lower concentration of 30% solids. It can be used in areas that require 220.2 grams per liter concentration and can withstand moderate to slightly heavy traffic.
3. WCS Emulsion
This is a water-borne concrete sealant with 37% concentration. It is low in VOC and perfect for residential applications, especially for home and business owners who’re concerned about the environment and want eco-friendly solutions. The emulsion uses water-soluble solvent to help carry decorative sealing material.
